Hi coffee-lovers! Its December now and if we’re right, the baubles will be hanging, the lights twinkling, and the presents wrapped below the tree, but the festive season is not quite complete without a hot cup in good company so we’re sharing with you this homemade Peppermint Mocha recipe. It is a delicious version of a holiday coffee drink complete with candy canes, whipped cream and mint syrup!

 

All your caffeine breaks from here on out will be so much more exciting and festive and your seasonal cup takes just 10 minutes to prepare. Let’s take a look at the ingredients…

 

Condiments

1/4 cup Mint syrup

 

Baking & Spices

2 tbsp Cocoa powder

1 tsp Mint extract

1/4 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup Sugar

1 Whipped cream

 

Coffee

4 Espresso shots

 

Dairy

2 cups Milk

 

Desserts

2 Candy canes

Liquids

1 cup Water

 

And now, the method to the magic cup…

Instructions

1.)    Make the mint syrup by mixing together boiling water, sugar and mint extract. Set aside - this syrup will last up to a month in the fridge, so you can enjoy peppermint mochas all December long!

2.)    In a large glass mixing cup, microwave milk for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Add cocoa powder, mint syrup, chocolate chips and fresh espresso shots, whisking well to combine.

3.)    Top with whipped cream and crushed candy canes, then serve and enjoy.
